ABOUT TFES STUDENT GARDEN CLUB PROGRAM:

Student Club Classes (aka meetings) take place during school time, offering hands-on gardening activities. April-June, student members have weekly meetings alternating according to grade. Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd = Seedlings; Grades 3rd, 4th, 5th = Sprouts

Growing Food and Young Minds

While we were having fun and learning about nature, we also planted a productive food garden!

Here is the Biodome/green house and some transplanted seedlings, which we planted in April to start seeds! We then planted these seedlings into the TFES Food Garden!
The plants needed to get ready to live outdoors. To get them ready for the garden, Mrs Nyszczot took them home and put them outside for increasing time each day. Did you know that’s called “hardening off” and it allows plants to give themselves sunblock from the strong sun! #natureisamazing
This is the garden map we created using growveg.com garden planner, which illustrates how large the crops will get, when to sew and the best companion crops!
