Garden Club’s Past Week and This Coming Week!

We are so happy to be back at recess this past week. Again, this past Thursday, we enjoyed growing with the K, 1st, 2nd grades. (This coming week, on 5/26 the older grades will meet).

We are happy to announce that we finished planting the food garden’s 15 beds and 10 container gardens filled with food crops!

This past Garden Club week, we met with each grade at their recess time. First, all the Kindergarten Garden Club members met for 25 minutes, and then first grade met, and then second grade.

In total, 80 students took home soil and seeds planted (a choice of peppers, basil, chives or sweet pea flowers.).  We also gave away 20 tomato starter plants, so that families can grow food at home!

Here are the instructions (with color sheet) we sent home in case you need more information about how to care for and transplant your baby plants.
