115 Students Enjoy a Salad Party of their Spring Harvest

In June, we wrapped up the Student Program @Recess for the school year!  115 students received awards and enjoyed the fruits of their labor with a SALAD PARTY!  Not everyone liked everything, but most of the kids tried the serval of the fresh vegetables we grew in the garden! Each student had the opportunity to taste the harvested spring crops of lettuce, radish, spinach, kale, carrots, and snow peas!  (We had tomatoes from the store bc ours are not ready yet!)   So many smiles, so much learned and so much eaten!  What a wonderful end to a great program!

Do you love being outside and getting your hands dirty? Are you interested in working in our school garden? If so, sign-up and join the Thomas Fitzwater Garden Club! We are looking for Kids and the Young-at-Heart to help us grow food and beautify our school grounds with native plants! We also plan to have fun while learning and loving nature along the way!
