Thanks and Congrats to TFES’s Tree Tender Fan Zhang-Plasket

Photo: In 2021, Fan Zhang-Plasket (on left) led the TFES tree planting in front of school with many families and older Upper Dublin students. She has also helped with many other gardening projects around the school and community.

TFES’s Tree Tender Fan Zhang-Plasket was selected as the Outstanding Citizen in the 39th annual Upper Dublin Medals program. The community is so grateful for all for her work in caring for/planting trees, native plants, whilst improving the ecosystem! In addition, she has taught so many of us about the importance of native plants and how to support wildlife in our own community! She is a true hero!

We salute Mrs. Zhang-Plasket for her tireless efforts in adding/maintaining about 50 various trees around the TFES campus to promote biodiversity and improve the ecosystem. She also started many of the native plants around the front of the building, helped with the Food Garden and assisted in the creation/design of Abbey’s Memorial “Buddy Bench” garden. She is scientist by trade and strives to grow a living book as a positive example for our community. In addition, she started/maintains other sites with native plants and trees, throughout the community.

The Medals program is presented by Upper Dublin Township, Upper Dublin School District, Fort Washington Business Alliance, and the Upper Dublin Education Foundation.
